Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Survivor Benefits

 

If you have a disability and are unable to work, you may be eligible for Social Security Benefits.  These are payments made to you by the Social Security Administration to help meet your basic needs.Social Security Disability (SSD) is paid from the money that you paid into Social Security when you worked.  But if you did not pay enough in Social Security taxes you may still be eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
